Dal is always a comfort food and adding greens to it completes a healthy meal. Added palak with 4 variety dals and made this dal fry which was truly yummy.
You need to make:
1/4 cup - Thoor Dal
1/4 cup - Yellow Moong Dal
1/4 cup - Masoor Dal
1/4 cup - Channa Dal
1 cup - Palak(picked and washed throughly, roughly chopped)
2 nos - Onion(finely chopped)
2 nos - Tomatoes(chopped)
1/2 tsp - Ginger(chopped)
5 cloves - Garlic(chopped)

1 sprig - Curry leaves
1 tsp - Red chilli powder
1 tsp - Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp - Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
2 nos - Red Chillies
Pinch of asafoetida
1 tsp - Lemon Juice
1 tsp - Ghee (optional or oil can be used)
1 tsp - Oil
Salt as per reqd
1 sprig - Curry leaves
1 tsp - Red chilli powder
1 tsp - Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp - Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
2 nos - Red Chillies
Pinch of asafoetida
1 tsp - Lemon Juice
1 tsp - Ghee (optional or oil can be used)
1 tsp - Oil
Salt as per reqd
How to make:
Soak dals in water for about 10 mins. In a pressure cooker add oil once it becomes hot add ginger, 3 cloves of garlic, green chillies, half of the chopped onions, curry leaves and saute them well.
Once they are done add chopped tomatoes and palak mix them well and add salt and cover it and cook for a min.
Now add the dals, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, asafoetida and cook them for 5 whistles once they are done remove the pressure and mash the dals to become more soft and set it aside.

In a small pan add ghee once it becomes hot add cumin seeds, mustard after they crackle add remaining onions, 2 cloves garlic, red chilli and saute them well until onions are ligthly roasted.
Now pour the tadka over the dal and before serving add the lemon juice .
Enjoy it hot with phulkas!!!
